Meet Your Mayor Jodie Perry
Since taking office in January 2024 as the 71st mayor of Mansfield, Ohio, Jodie A. Perry has focused her administration on three core pillars: economic growth, infrastructure modernization, and public safety. Drawing on nearly two decades of economic development experience, including ten years of leading the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development. Mayor Perry’s administration emphasizes long-term revitalization, operational efficiency, and enhanced transparency.
Core Priorities and Achievements
- Economic Development: Leveraging her extensive background in business attraction and workforce development, Mayor Perry has catalyzed private-sector investment. There have been industrial expansions and business retention projects involving major local companies, development at Mansfield Lahm Airport, new housing developments, and commercial activity within the city.
- Infrastructure and Utilities: The administration has accelerated critical modernization projects, including the Main Street Corridor project, the bike trail extension projects, water main replacements, and upgrades to the utility billing systems. Additionally, the city has focused on neighborhood revitalization through targeted investments and playground upgrades across Mansfield’s parks system.
- Public Safety: To combat violent crime and enhance community safety, the mayor has focused on recruitment for police and fire. The city has made significant upgrades in safety equipment and training. Mansfield was the first in the state to deploy drone first responder units, and tornado sirens were installed for the first time.
Leadership and Professional Background
- Community and Civic Engagement: Mayor Perry emphasizes cross-sector collaboration between city government, local businesses, education, and county leadership. She is a past President of the Rotary Club of Mansfield. She is an active and visible member of the community.
- Previous Career Highlights: Jodie previously led the Greece (NY) and Van Wert (OH) Chambers of Commerce and got her start at the Ashland (OH) Chamber. Her earlier career includes serving as the Deputy Chief Clerk for the U.S. Senate Banking Committee. She was honored with the 2019 Richland County ATHENA Award.
- Education: She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ashland University.
- Personal: She enjoys being an aunt to adorable nieces and nephews and loves living in Mansfield with her dog, Lizzy.
