Shari Robertson
At Large
Shari grew up in Mansfield and graduated from Madison Comprehensive High School in 1985, where she was active in athletics, something that taught her the importance of teamwork. She received a B.A. in Business Administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and has called Mansfield home for over 50 years.
She joined the Mansfield Police Department in 1994, where she attained the rank of Captain before retiring in July of 2022. During her career, Shari met and collaborated with numerous city leaders, public stakeholders, and citizens to find proactive ways to address community issues in our city’s neighborhoods. It was during this time that she realized the importance of a collective approach to problem-solving citizen concerns. She was successful in attaining over 11 million dollars in local, state, and federal grant funding to aid the Mansfield Police Department in providing services to better our community responses to crime, as well as to improve victim services and technological police responses. It was these collaborative past efforts, personal experiences, and Shari’s commitment to our city that motivated her to serve our community as a city council member.
Today, Shari continues her community service by volunteering her time on several local and state non-profit boards, and she feels privileged to have the opportunity to work with our citizens, community stakeholders, and city leadership on future projects and growth.
